me, this site and my design

Hello and welcome. This website is here not only to showcase my ideas but also to display my obsession. I refuse to settle. At the heart of everything I do is innovation, but don’t just listen to the rhetoric. Use the navigation bubbles to understand what I do.

I have always been fascinated with design and trained in AutoCAD while studying interior design. I then moved onto print layout work for small businesses in a freelance capacity as I pursued a successful career during the day as a
project and site manager within a large interior refurbishment company.

It wasn't until early 2009 when I finally gave in to my urge to become a full
time designer accepting a Graphic Design position. Now I spend all my time
designing, developing and delivering new ideas. The everyday fluctuations
of project work only help my process as I constantly adapt to ensure that
a brief is delivered.

plan, design, optimise and test for web

Everyone uses the web today. I design for how it will be used tomorrow. Your site needs to display interactivity, usability and functionality whether it is being viewed at home or on a smartphone. This is where I come in.

Having a solid foundation in hand coding HTML & CSS and my willingness to embrace new ways to engage the end user, puts me in a great position to provide you with a bespoke solution every time.

A vast majority of my current web work is for small to medium sized companies looking to have a clean, accessible on-brand web presence. These are generically 3 to 4 page layouts and fairly static in nature. However as the way we use the web evolves and becomes more integrated into our daily lives, clients are requesting more and more functionality and dynamic content. It's never been so important for you to have control over your content, which is made simple with both, full-fat and skinny Content Management System options:

  • Full-Fat
Wordpress CMS - This is a great content management system, which is my starting framework for your site. I take this structure and custom style it to accurately achieve your needs. This system allows you to not only manage your own content, but also add additional features through a password controlled, web based dashboard (training on this system is available).

  • Skinny
Pagelime - As the title suggests, this is a more lightweight option. We will discuss which areas are required to be editable at the planning stage of the project. The client will have the power to alter, pre-defined text areas and images. This is a very good option and is extremely simple and intuitive to use (training on this system is is available).

animation, marketing emails...

Apart from the work I do everyday, I’ve done just about everything else.

Working for Ladbrokes has given me the opportunity to work on long term projects as well as putting me in a position where I need to turn creative around in a matter of hours to meet press deadlines. Examples of both are below.

Work includes both, personal and business projects covering a range of disciplines from marketing emails and promotional merchandise to large-scale print and animation.

There are also a few things that I’ve done simply because I couldn’t leave my computer alone after a project had been completed. The fear of stagnation pushes me to improve everything that I do and I’ve included some personal projects that will show you just how far I can currently push the envelope.
